The Cala Jondal is a very beautiful and trendy beach, surrounded by pines and jagged cliffs, very popular with boat owners.
This conservation area of natural beauty has to be one of the last outposts of paradise. Overlooked only by a few exquisitely architected homes high up on the surrounding green hills, the white pebbly beach is dotted here and there with the shade of pine trees before sloping to the glittering, crystal clear waters. Many Beach Clubs build up sandy parts and provide safe access into the water with little bridges or ramps. After a few meters the seabed is sandy, so bathing is pure joy.
Cala Jondal is now possibly the trendiest beach on Ibiza and there's a fabulous selection of beach restaurants that are popular with the rich and famous as well as locals and holidaymakers. The closest resort is Playa d'en Bossa where you can find the perfect hotel for your holiday, only 15 minutes away. Or live the dream of Ibiza in a private villa nearby.
Many beach clubs offer zodiac service (taking a dinghy out to the fabulous boats and yachts anchored off shore to collect the owners to eat in their restaurants). Most also will bring you the drinks directly to your boat - now that's what we call stylish!
Facilities: Good choice of restaurants, many requiring you to book at weekends to avoid disappointment. By the side of the Tropicana Beach Club is a massage area, a shop selling beachwear and a great beach bar that often has live music on a sunday. The Cala Jondal is also home to Blue Marlin Ibiza, one of the most famous beach clubs of the island.
Getting there: Reached only by car (and private yacht!), follow signposts from Ibiza Town and the airport. Parking is fairly good but much of it is attached to the restaurants so head for those.
